lindsey and aaron ~ destin bay house wedding ~ destin florida wedding photographer

I got roofied at a wedding once several years ago.

Actually the bride and I got roofied by a creepy bartender, which resulted in standing almost shoulder deep in a ridiculously nasty pond at night in Oklahoma, camera held eye level, attempting to hand hold a long exposure shot of a drunk couple in a rocking boat. It was probably one of the most ridiculous ideas I’ve ever attempted, but attempt it we did.

I’ll save the rest of that story for the book…

Since that night, I’ve had a love affair with shooting in and around the water. Whether standing waist deep in the ocean shooting couples, or mostly sober in a small boat with a trolling motor chasing a mostly sober couple in a canoe up a freezing cold river in Montana, I adore working in and around water.

So when Lindsey first asked if we could all play in the water after her wedding, the instant love affair with this wedding began. The added bonus was the chance to shoot two of my favorite things at once; the Destin Bay House (I love you. I do. XOXO) and lightning. I haven’t been able to go much in the last couple of years due to a crazy schedule, but I big puffy heart storm chasing and shooting weather. Sincere thanks to the Bay House for letting me borrow a ladder and a towel, which served as my redneck tripod for that shot.

Lindsey and Aaron, thanks for doing your own thing. And sincere thanks for letting me be a part of it.
